Hey Rad -

Barefoot running is great, but only if you already have good core awareness and stability (which I know you do!) Otherwise it could leave you in a lot of pain. Moral of the story? Start with the basics and then work up to barefoot running, and I'd also suggest doing it on sand or grass not a hard track. For just short periods to begin with.

Ha! I was fat and I never ate any of that kind of food. (It doesn't even look good!). Who eats this stuff?? Show me photos of rice, pasta, French pastries, sour dough bread, and homemade chocolate chips cookies and you got something. ;)

Hi Kat,

I recently watched a video showing diferent running patterns comparing barefoot running and running with the latest shoes on. Barefoot running uses more of the ball of the foot and shoe running shows a promounced heel strike which interestingly goes missing in the barefoot pattern.

Ive been trialling barefoot running and the body feels better for it and seem to be able to get more power evenly throughout the body. Ive also noticed that my abs also get a much better workout and are being used in a way that feels far more efficient.

What are your thoughts about training with the barefoot in mind? And waht are the ways you would encourage people to adopt?

Cheers,
